Collin is a ceramic artist from Aurora, IL. He developed an early fascination with ceramics when his mother took pottery classes at a local community college in the late 90’s. She would bring home her finished pieces, sharing stories about glazes, firing techniques, and the studio’s materials. The names of certain glazes—often beginning with names of famous potters he had never heard of—became part of his household vocabulary, sparking a lifelong appreciation for the craft.

In college, he took introductory ceramics courses but went on to earn a B.A. in Sociology from Northern Illinois University in 2014. After working in various fields without finding a true career fit, he was drawn back to clay in 2022.

The shared studio environment has become a refreshing source of inspiration, offering a rich exchange of knowledge and creative energy. As he continues to work out of Waubonsee Community College, Collin is dedicated to refining his ceramic practice, and actively pursuing exhibition opportunities, invitational, and juried shows. His work was recognized with an Award of Excellence at the 2024 Skyway Art Competition.
